How to convert fractions to decimals
Converting fractions to decimals is easier than it sounds. The / symbol between the numerator and denominator of a fraction can also be read as "divided by". In other words, the fraction $$\frac{4}{9}$$ can also be thought of as 4 divided by 9. To convert this fraction to a decimal, we just need to calculate 4 divided by 9. This can be done easily on a calculator: $$ 4 \div 9 = 0.4444 $$ In this case, we have rounded our solution to 4 decimal places. We can therefore say that $$\frac{4}{9} = 0.4444 $$
