Converting fractions to decimals is easier than it sounds. The **/** symbol between the numerator and denominator of a fraction can also be read as "divided by". In other words, the fraction
$$\frac{1}{426}$$
can also be thought of as **1 divided by 426**. To turn this decimal into a fraction, we just need to calculate **1 divided by 426**.
This can be done easily on a calculator:
$$ 1 \div 426 = 0.0023 $$
In this case, we have rounded our solution to 4 decimal places. We care therefore say that
$$\frac{1}{426} =0.0023 $$
